Visual Field Tests

C-True Opticians Ltd uses a visual field test to find out more about the part of the nervous system that allows us to see. The visual field test can help the doctor find early signs of diseases like glaucoma that damage vision gradually. Some people with glaucoma do not notice any problems with their vision, but the visual field test shows that peripheral vision is being lost. By repeating more visual field tests at regular intervals, we can also tell whether a patient is getting better or worse.

If you look after your eyes, your vision can last a lifetime, which is why we recommend that you should make sure you book an eye test at least every two years.

If you’re eligible for PRSI assistance, your eye test will be completely free. In addition to a free eye test, there are new and enhanced benefits that are also available to medical cardholders. You can use your benefit as part payment towards one of our in-store offers. You are entitled to a free eye test if you qualify for PRSI treatment benefit or if you are a medical card holder.
